Should I Choose a Straightener Feeder or a Loop Pit Line? ~The Basics~
Hello!
In this blog post we will compare the various characteristics of straightener feeder lines and loop pit-type coil lines when it comes to choosing between the two types.
In the blog entry below, a straightener feeder line will be referred to as a straightener feeder, and a loop pit-type coil line will be referred to as a loop pit line.
What is a Straightener Feeder?
As the name suggests, a straightener feeder is an integrated piece of equipment composed of a 'straightener section' (which eliminates the 'coil set' in the coil material to flatten the material) and a 'feeder section' (which feeds coil material to the press in specific lengths).
What is a Loop Pit Line?
A loop pit line is composed of separate straightener and feeder units that form a loop in the coil material.
Which Type Should You Choose?
When planning to install a press, the following three items should be considered when deciding whether to choose a straightener feeder or a loop pit line.
(1) Product Specifications: What kinds of products will you be making?
(2) Productivity: The production capacity per unit of time.
(3) Installation Conditions: How large is the available installation space? Will it be necessary to construct a foundation to install it, etc?
The above considerations are used to clarify the specifications (conditions), and to then determine and select the coil line best suited for the application.
The above table compares the advantages and disadvantages of straightener feeders and loop pit lines.
In the following blog posts we will explain the '(1) Product Specifications,' '(2) Productivity,' and '(3) Installation Conditions' listed in the table for each type of feeder in greater detail.
We hope you will take the time to read them!
